Speaking of The Sandcarvers; they’ve invited me to spend a couple of weekends — last weekend and this one coming up — with them out at the studio. They’re putting the finishing touches on their upcoming album, “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.” I had a blast last Sunday hanging with them at Nexus Recording Studio, listening to the rough mixes and getting some shots. I’m excited to hear what they’ve done in the last week and to get some more shots. I’ll be posting some of these in the days ahead, as soon as I have them “developed,” so be looking for that, eh?
Once they get this puppy in the can, The ‘Carvers will be having a CD Release Party for “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” on Friday, March 13 at Shank Hall in Milwaukee, with special guests Rising Gael. This new album of almost epic proportions has been almost three years in the making, so this promises to be an historic weekend. Can I get away with saying that? I think so … it’s that good! And besides, St. Pat’s is just a few days after, so you might as well get yourself primed, right? So come on out and have a hooley, eh?
