Still Life with Useless Elegance

Right outside my front door, looking towards my neighbor’s property. He has a much cooler house then we do.

In Other Words …

One of the many reasons why an automobile is no place to ride out a tornado … ” from The Big Storm Picture. Ryan is simply a fantastic shooter and I’m jealous as hell he gets to do something I would love to do … chase storms!

Cold Light” from David J. Nightingale.

Adobe Camera RAW 5.2 Sceencast” form The Digital Story.

Blue Beauty,” a great slideshow of satellite images from Great Dane Pro.

Not if I killed you first” — What the Duck.

I was really psyched about the new Canon 5D MkII, but from everything I’ve been reading … maybe I’ll wait for the 5Ds MkII, sans video mode. It’s beginning to sound like a repeat of the 1D MkIII fiasco. Why on earth would still shooters want video gunking up their vision? I wonder if this wouldn’t have been a wonderful camera at a cost of at least $1000.00 less … without all this video crap. Nobody (still shooters, at least) seems pleased with it. Seems like Canon has dropped the ball again. Here’s a review from ProPhotoHome. Note to Canon: Just because you can … doesn’t mean you should!

Hmm … a little creative cropping and this might have made a nice symmetry photo, don’t you think?
