Can you tell that I’m finally getting around to processing the photos of my trip to Chicago and the Lincoln Park Zoo/Conservatory from a couple of weeks ago? The Lion and Chimp images from the last few days were probably a dead give-away, huh? This scene is from right inside the entrance to the Conservatory, where this little Nymph is poised right above the Koi pond.

Greetings~

Gone are the three, those sisters rare
How wild, how witch-like
Weird that life should be
Over-prepared for the event
At the light of day

Departure of Dreams in Development

A modest little statue captured at the RenFaire this passed summer. I’d been trying to capture this one for a couple of seasons with no success, but I finally got a break in the crowds this year, providing a nice background. Nice … and a little spooky, as well, if you look closely and use your imagination.

In Other Words …

Kicking off my new feature this week, a couple of new photoblogs I’ve discovered:

Camera 47

The Digital Story” has a nice list of “Gift Ideas For Photographers,” all of which come in under a hundred bucks … #7 if you’re reading this, my love!

A lovely shot from Ryan at “The Big Storm Picture” called, “The Calm After the Storm.

Harold Davis at “PhotoBlog 2.0” reprints his popular article on shooting water droplets.

A bust of Sir George Solti in Grant Park, Chicago. Located across the street and just north of Orchestra Hall on Michigan Ave. where he held court for so many years, the windows of which you can see as reflections in the base of the sculpture.
