Significance vs Meditation

Goodness … this shot is a year old, almost to the day. A little over a year, actually. I love digging into the archives and finding forgotten gems.

Act Including Indestructible Elegance

Winter is just beginning to settle in and there’s a crispness to the air, as opposed to the bitterness that will soon be descending from the north.

I find myself on an old farm road straddling the Wisconsin/Illinois border.

The first thing that catches my eye is the darkness.

Nestled within the backdrop of an azure sky dotted with cottony clouds; nestled within autumnal leaves still clinging to their summer homes; nestled within the still green turf dusted with both the remnants of the years first fallen snow and those now lifeless botanical wayfarers …

Darkness. The darkness of death and decay. The decayed and rotting timber of man’s negligence surrounded by the decayed and rotting timber of the conifer brothers from which it was created.

Death, surrounded on all sides by the cycle of life.

[My wife says I'm, "Going all Prog-rock," when I write like this. ;-) ]
