Approach with Reality

Greetings~

A very remarkable history this is
They threw a stone, you threw a stone
To watch the blue wave curl and break
Doubtless, I remember still
That year
As we walked the grass
And freedom withered as the Autumn leaves…

Simmons Island Harbor

Greetings—

Simmons Island Harbor in Kenosha, WI. I set the camera up on my tripod in portrait mode and fired off five panned images … and broke just about every photographic composition rule in the process. I kinda like it.

Modern Impression of Lost Material

Greetings~

This was taken on an early Kenosha morning; a little after 5:00AM. The sad thing is that, after I was done taking my photo, I picked up the can and walked it approximately 15 feet and dropped it in a garbage can. Can people be more lazy? Silly question, I guess, as I know they can be.

As a photographer I have a strong belief that we should always leave the environments we enter in the same or better conditions in which we found them.

The Intuitive Edge

Greetings~

Goodness … this one’s been on the shelf for a while. Taken back in March of 2009, on a cold and blustery Wisconsin morning. I remeber that we had a weather system moving into the area on this morning … the next day we had ten inches of snow on the ground. That’s how our winter was; tons of snow, melt … tons of snow, melt.

Strange how we remember things about our photos, even if we haven’t seen them for a while, isn’t it?

Greetings~

What a great show by Grand Disaster and Barkeep at McAuliffe’s last night. I was able to capture a bunch of cool shots, as well, which should be ready for viewing in about a week or so. While we’re on the subject, I just wanted to mention that the next Grand Disaster show will be on May 15th with Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash at Vnuk’s … check it, for sure!

Today’s shot is of the Simmons Island lighthouse in Kenosha. One of my favorite local spots to shot, fer sure … as long as conditions are right. Hey, us photog’s are a persnickety bunch!

I’ll be catching a nap here in a little while, as the Hawks have a late game 5 match up against the Canucks tonight … don’t wanna miss this one!

Greetings~

Gone are the three, those sisters rare
How wild, how witch-like
Weird that life should be
Over-prepared for the event
At the light of day
