Greetings~

It was a gorgeous morning; I was walking over to Lake Michigan on my recent Chicago getaway when I noticed a place that I had never heard of or seen before: The Grape Street Piano Bar. A little hole in the wall type of place by all accounts above ground level in an older building that had a glass facade/lobby built onto it. I’d love to tell you more about it, but apparently the don’t have a website … at least not one that I can find. Suffice to say I’ll be checking this place out for myself real soon.

Greetings~

I spent the night in Chicago after my trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo a while back. The next day I was scheduled to cover the Gaelic Park IrishFest but when I got up that morning I heard that Lake Shore Drive was shut down to vehicular traffic so bicyclists could traverse “LSD” or, “The Drive” as we call it, so I walked on down to check it out … here’s what I came away with! Well, I have a few more nice ones (to my mind at least), but this one might be my favorite of the bunch. That’ll probably change tomorrow but for now it’s my story and I’m sticking too it.

A view of Michigan Ave. & Ontario St. in Chicago from seven stories high. I love it when a plan comes together. Well, okay … I was hoping for a shot like this and I managed to put myself in a position to get it but, let’s face it, it was pure luck to get off three shots for an HDR image while one lady remained motionless as all around her swirled with movement.

Deep Experience – Number 8

This should give you an idea of how much snow we received back on and around the 10th of this month. That’s my oldest son standing there … he’s 6′-2″ tall and I was 2 steps up on our front porch when I snapped this. It was nuts, I tell you. 14″ of the white stuff in a little over 24 hours.
