Greetings~
There is in Zion IL what used to be a working nuclear power plant right on the shores of Lake Michigan. The building is still there, but it’s long been shut down. Not sure what ever happened to the waste from this plant … and I’d be almost afraid to find out, at this point.
And speaking of fear … I’d love to get out there and get some shots of the facility, but I’m afraid if I do I’ll be labeled as a terrorist or something; maybe I just need to man-up and get out there and do it.
Anyway, if you travel due east about a mile from the plant you’ll see this scene just off Sheridan Rd. in Zion, where the feeder lines stream out from the plant before taking their zig-zag course over northeastern Illinois. It’s actually very pretty out in the woods of this scene as well.
